Solutions / Co-ownership and flying groups
Aircraft co-ownership and flying groups, without spreadsheets
Shares, bookings that cannot overlap, flying shifts on fixed days and a clear balance between co-owners, on the same record as the aircraft's hours and maintenance.
Shares and co-owners
An aircraft can have several owners, each with a share such as 50%, 25%, 25%. You invite co-owners by email, or record a share with just a name for someone who does not use AVIOFILE. A share becomes theirs only when they accept.
- Shares are percentages and their sum cannot exceed 100%
- Hand over or leave a share, with past shares kept in the history
- Access levels: can view, pilot, can edit the aircraft, co-manager, or custom permissions

Bookings and flying shifts
Bookings cannot overlap and the app warns you when an aircraft is grounded. A shift plan assigns fixed days with rotation and swaps, and shows a fairness preview before you publish it.
- Policy per plan: exclusive, priority or informational shifts
- Hand a shift over to a co-owner or release it so anyone can book
- Bookings and shifts in the calendar you already use
Costs, rates and balances
Record fuel, insurance, hangar and maintenance costs, set hourly rates and decide how each category is split: by ownership share, in equal parts, by hours flown or paid by the pilot. The statement shows who is owed and who owes, and the hourly cost calculator estimates what a flight hour really costs.
- Statement per member: owed, owes or settled
- Payments to the group fund or to a member
- Estimates based on your data, not accounting figures; AVIOFILE does not collect payments

One record for the whole aircraft
Every flight updates the Hobbs and tach counters, the maintenance deadlines and the costs by hour. Documents with expiry dates, defect reports and the history of changes are visible to each co-owner according to their permissions.

Frequently asked questions
What happens when a co-owner leaves?
Their share ends on that day, the percentage becomes unassigned, they lose their access to the aircraft and the other owners are notified. The share stays in the history.
Can I add a co-owner who does not use the app?
Yes. Record the share with just a name and invite the person later, when they want to join.
Does AVIOFILE handle payments between co-owners?
No. It calculates costs, rates and balances between members and records the payments you register. It does not collect or transfer money.
Who pays for the group's subscription?
A group has several co-managers and one of them is the payer: the subscription and the invoices are in that person's name. The role can be passed on with the consent of the other co-manager.
