A flight is logged in four steps: aircraft, route, duration and details. The flight goes into the aircraft's record and into your logbook, and the aircraft counters update by themselves.
Before you start
- To log a flight on an aircraft you need at least one aircraft you can log flights on (see Add an aircraft). If you have none, NEW FLIGHT offers Add a flight to the logbook (for a flight made elsewhere) and Add aircraft. If you have aircraft but cannot log flights on any (for example you are read-only in a group, or the aircraft is sold) only Add a flight to the logbook is left.
- You must have permission to log flights on that aircraft. If a membership fee has expired, the app says so and does not let you save.
Log a flight
Aircraft and route
- From Home tap the big NEW FLIGHT button. From an aircraft page you can also use the LOG A FLIGHT button at the top of the Tech log tab.
- Which aircraft? Tap the aircraft: the one you used last is ready (Last used). Pilot, Hobbs and Tach start are carried over from your last flight. Tap Continue.
- Where to? FROM is your home base by default (or where you last landed): tap it to change it. For TO pick one of the RECENT AIRPORTS or tap Search another airport. Tap Continue.

The duration
- How long? Set the final meter. With a Hobbs aircraft you see HOBBS END: tap the big value and enter the Hobbs at arrival, or use + and − (0.1 hours at a time) or one of the durations under QUICK DURATION. The Start is carried over from the previous flight and you change it by tapping it. With a Tach aircraft it works the same way (TACH END). If the aircraft has no meters you see FLIGHT TIME: use + and − or the quick durations.
- Optional: under TAKEOFF AND LANDING set the time of one of the two, the other is calculated from the hour meter. If the times do not match the meter you see a warning.
- Tap Continue.

The details and saving
- In Flight details the summary is at the top (registration, route, duration). Below is your role (by default as on your last flight): tap it to change it, for example Pilot in command.
- If someone else is on board, tap Other person on board: pick a person of the aircraft (the flight will also appear in their logbook) or Someone else (type a name) (they don't need an account), then their role.
- Set Landings and Night landings with the plus and minus buttons.
- Choose the Flight type: Private, Training, Check, Rental, Maintenance test, Ferry, Technical flight or Other. For Technical flight and Maintenance test a Who pays row also appears (I pay for it, Split among the members, The organization pays): by default it is the choice made for the aircraft in the Rates (see Costs), and you can change it on each flight.
- Check the Date (today by default) and, if you like, write Remarks (optional).
- Tap Save Flight.

Flight saved appears with the summary (aircraft, route, flight time, Aircraft total). If something does not add up (for example a starting Hobbs different from the aircraft's) you see a warning, but the flight is saved. Tap Log another to start over, or Home.
If the flight was already recorded by somebody else
If the school, your instructor or a co-owner has already recorded that flight with you on board, in the Which aircraft? step and in the Flight details an "… has already recorded this flight" notice appears: tap it and save the flight in your logbook from Flights to confirm, instead of creating another one (the aircraft's meters then count the hours once). If you save a new flight anyway, after saving a notice says that the aircraft already has a flight that day with the same people: the flight is saved, but check you did not record it twice.
If a flight you had accepted is corrected
If whoever recorded the flight (the school, the club, a co-owner) corrects it in a substantial way, that is the date, the role, the aircraft or a duration changed by more than 6 minutes, the flight leaves your logbook and totals and goes back to Flights to confirm, in the CORRECTED FLIGHTS section, with what changed (before → after). At the top of the Logbook you see N corrected flights to reconfirm.
- Confirm puts the flight back in your logbook and totals, already corrected.
- It's not correct asks why: the flight stays out of your logbook and whoever corrected it sees it among the Disputed flights, where they close it with a note or correct it again. You can still reconfirm it later.
The charge does not change, whatever you answer. If you tap Confirm on a flight that was corrected once more in the meantime, the app decides nothing and shows you the new correction.
The aircraft's technical log
The Tech log tab of the aircraft page is its technical log (QTB): the flights written like a logbook, with date, who flew, route, meter, duration, fuel, oil, remarks and defects. It is there for every aircraft, also co-owned ones and those of a club or a school. On a tablet it is a table.
- At the top you find LOG A FLIGHT and, for who can import it, Import the technical log (see Import the technical log).
- Filter by Year and Month, or search by name, route or notes among the flights already shown. Tap a flight to open its details.
- A technical flight reads "Technical flight · name", or "Technical flight · pilot not named" when nobody is named.
Technical flights to assign
Who manages the flights of the aircraft sees the notice N technical flights to assign at the top of the Tech log tab and in the Overview: they are the technical flights with no pilot at all (for example those imported from the log). Tap it to see only those. Open a flight and tap Say who flew it: pick a person of the aircraft (the flight goes in their logbook once they confirm it) or Someone else (write the name).
Your personal logbook
The Logbook tab collects all your flights.
- At the top, TOTAL TIME and LAST 90 D, with Indicative recency met (you need 3 take-offs and landings in 90 days) or Indicative recency not met. Indicative: 3 take-offs and landings in the last 90 days, across all aircraft registered here. It does not account for class/type, night or VDS rules. Check the requirements of your licence.
- If somebody has recorded a flight with you on board, N flights to confirm appears above the segments, in both views: until you accept it, it does not count in the totals. The Flights and Totals segments switch between the list and the totals: total time, pilot in command, co-pilot, dual, instructor, solo, night, IFR and the BY CATEGORY, BY CLASS, BY AIRCRAFT TYPE and BY YEAR sections.
- In the list, filter by period (All, 30 days, 90 days, This year, Custom) and by kind of entry (Flights, Other aircraft, Simulator, Brought forward). The search box looks in registration, airport or remarks.

Add a flight from the Logbook
From the Logbook you can also log a flight on your own aircraft, without going back to the main screen. Tap + (or Add entry if it is empty): if you have aircraft on AVIOFILE the Add to your logbook choice appears.

- Flight on your aircraft opens the four-step flight logging described above; when you save, the logbook updates by itself.
- Other aircraft, simulator or brought-forward hours opens the form for entries that are not on AVIOFILE (below).
If you have no aircraft on AVIOFILE the personal-entry form opens straight away.
Add flights that are not on AVIOFILE
For flights in other aircraft, simulator sessions or hours from your paper logbook:
- In the Logbook tap + (or Add entry if it is empty) and, if the choice appears, Other aircraft, simulator or brought-forward hours.
- Under What are you adding? choose Other aircraft, Simulator or Brought forward (hours brought forward).
- Fill in Date and the fields that appear: aircraft registration and type, Off block (UTC) and On block (UTC) (with both, the duration is calculated for you), From and To, Your role, Times and Landings. For the simulator enter the type (for example FNPT II); for brought forward a Description.
- Tap Add to logbook.
For many entries at once see Import your logbook.
Edit or void a flight
- In the Logbook tap the flight to open its details.
- Tap Edit flight, change what you need (date, route, meters, landings, type, remarks) and Save changes. The aircraft counters move by the difference.
- To cancel it tap Void flight, enter a Reason and confirm. The aircraft counters go back as they were and the flight leaves the logbooks; it stays in the history as voided.
The Edit flight and Void flight buttons only appear if you can edit that flight: you logged it or you were in the crew, or you have permission to edit all flights on the aircraft.
Entries you added by hand (other aircraft, simulator, brought forward) open instead in the Edit entry form, where you can Save changes or Delete entry. Deleting removes the entry from the logbook and the totals and cannot be undone from the app.
Export your logbook as a PDF
- In the Logbook choose the period you want to export.
- Tap the file icon at the top (Export logbook).
- Choose PDF (EASA format), the printable logbook in the EASA Part-FCL layout. CSV (spreadsheet, one row per entry) and PDF (FAA format), with decimal hours, are also available.
- Wait for Preparing the PDF… and save or share the file.
Frequently asked questions
I entered the wrong Hobbs, how do I fix it?
Open the flight, Edit flight, correct the meter and save. To correct the aircraft's meter without a flight you need Counter adjustments, on the aircraft page.
Why can't I save?
Check the message at the top of the details: the departure airport or the starting meter is missing, or the organization's membership fee is not up to date.
